Apple has released iOS 18.2 RC 2 for developers today, this could be the final release in the beta cycle before iOS 18.2 is officially released next week. Let’s take a look at what’s new in this update!

RC 2 Updated
Apple has rolled out iOS 18.2 RC 2 just four days after the first RC version. The build number for RC 2 is 22C151, compared to 22C150 for RC 1.
It appears that Apple hasn’t made any noticeable changes in RC 2, likely focusing on bug fixes or security patches ahead of the public release.
I still expect Apple to release iOS 18.2 this week, with the iOS 18.3 Beta coming soon after.

Image Creation Feedback
Apple has removed the like and dislike buttons for images generated via Image Playground, Genmoji, and Image Wand in iOS 18.2 RC. It seems these buttons were only present during the beta phase to help Apple improve image generation by Apple Intelligence, and they will not be included in the official release.
Search in Apple Music and Apple TV
According to the iOS 18.2 release notes, the Apple Music and Apple TV apps now support natural language search. This allows you to describe what you’re looking for using any combination of categories such as genre, mood, actor, decade, and more.
Expanded Hearing Test Feature for AirPods Pro 2
The Hearing Test feature for AirPods Pro 2 will now expand to Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Romania, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
Additionally, the Hearing Aid feature will also become available in the United Arab Emirates with the iOS 18.2 RC update.
What’s Next?
iOS 18.2 will be released next week, possibly on December 9. After that, we can expect the first beta of iOS 18.3 to be released next week as well.
