What's New in iOS 26.1 RC?

iOS 26.1 RC is now available to developers. Since it dropped so late in October, the public release might be in early November. Let’s take a look at what’s new in this RC update!

In case you missed it, here are the features included in iOS 26.1 Beta 4 →

iOS 26.1 Coming Next Week

With iOS 26.1 RC arriving late today, it looks like the official release is planned for next week — marking the first time a “.1” update has launched in November instead of late October as usual.

Apple Intelligence Still in Beta

Last week’s iOS 26.1 Beta 4 briefly removed the “Beta” label from Apple Intelligence, sparking rumors that the feature was ready for a public debut. However, the “Beta” tag is back in today’s RC, confirming that Apple Intelligence will remain in beta for now.

Aside from that, I haven’t noticed any other significant changes. Since this is an RC build, I wouldn’t expect many new additions beyond bug fixes and performance optimizations. The overall system animations in iOS 26.1 RC also feel a bit smoother.

iOS 26.1 RC 2?

Although iOS 26.1 RC has been released, Apple hasn’t provided any release notes, leading many to believe that an iOS 26.1 RC 2 update could arrive later this week with the release notes included.

iOS 26.2 Beta Coming Soon

Apple is expected to release iOS 26.2 Beta shortly after iOS 26.1 rolls out — likely next week — and it should include more new features and changes to explore.

Don’t forget to follow @BetaProfiles on X or Threads so you won’t miss any beta update news!

I don’t know if it’s new, but the Translate button in the control center is new?

The Translate button has been around since iOS 18.x

Bro we dont fcking need Apple Intelligence updates right now we need battery fixes for the drainage of battery

It seems like I’m using two iPhones, so battery life has been fine for me :grimacing:
You should send a report in the Feedback app so Apple can look into it.

This annoying bug of a shiny border suddenly appearing when exiting to Home Screen is back. It was fixed in Beta 4, but I’m experiencing it again in RC

Did you have Low Power Mode turned on?
If so, try turning it off to see if that fixes it.

I’ve noticed this bug has been around since Beta 4, and it still hasn’t been fixed in the RC build.

Low Power Mode wasn’t turned on. Anyways, I just restarted my iPhone and it went away. Although the fact that the bug still may appear pisses me off
