Apple has released iOS 18.2 Beta 4 for developers today. This update brings iOS 18.2 closer to the end of the beta cycle, so there aren’t many changes or new features added—just bug fixes and security updates. Here’s what has changed in iOS 18.2 Beta 4 so far.
If you missed it, here are all the features and changes in iOS 18.2 Beta 3 →.
Find My
In iOS 18.2 Beta 4, the iPhone image in the ‘Show Contact Info’ feature in Find My has now been updated to show an iPhone with Dynamic Island.
Profile pictures in the Mail app on iOS 18.2 Beta 4 are now rounded.
Camera Control (iPhone 16 series)
When using the AE/AF Lock feature by holding down the Camera Control button, a yellow focus square will appear in the center of the screen.
Additionally, in Settings - Camera - Camera Control, a new Accessibility menu has been added at the bottom. Tapping this menu will take you to a settings page similar to the one found under Settings - Accessibility - Camera Control.
Photos
When scrubbing through a video in Photos app, the timestamp now shows milliseconds instead of seconds.
Visual Intelligence
When you ask with ChatGPT via Visual Intelligence, it now says “Asking ChatGPT” instead of “Working with ChatGPT”.

Settings
In Settings - Search, there is a new Search Engine option where you can change the default search engine for Spotlight. The available options include:
- Yahoo
- Bing
- DuckDuckGo
- Ecosia
Additionally, in Settings - Apps, the Default Apps menu now includes a description of this feature.
Bug Fixed
The text copy icon from photos in the Photos app has now been fixed so it no longer overlaps with the delete button.
