iOS 27 Beta 7 appears to be a “bug fixes and refinements” update, as I haven’t spotted any notable changes in this release.

The build number for iOS 27 Beta 7 ends with the letter “a,” so the RC is getting very close. My prediction is that Apple will release the iOS 27 RC on the day of the September iPhone event (rumors point to Wednesday, September 9). That means iOS 27 Beta 8 will likely arrive next week with a build number also ending in “a,” followed by the RC, since we only have about two weeks left.

The IPSW file sizes for iOS 27 Beta 5, 6, and 7 have barely changed. That’s a sign Apple has been focusing more on refinements and bug fixes than on adding major changes.

Siri AI Waitlist Messages

According to MacRumors, code in iOS 27 Beta 7 references a message in Settings > Siri that shows a dynamic wait time users may face before they can download the on-device models and enable Siri AI features.

Reddit user u/pdfu shared that Apple has added a new server endpoint, linwoodWaitTimeMessage, to fetch the current Siri availability status for a device, meaning Apple can adjust this value remotely on the server side based on demand and capacity.

If you installed iOS 27 Beta 1 back in the early days, you’ll remember there was a waitlist to use Siri AI. Some people waited only a few hours before Siri AI became available on their device, while others waited more than a week.

It’s still unclear whether iOS 27 beta users will be asked to join the waitlist again once iOS 27 is released.

The Siri AI waitlist will apply to iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27.

I noticed a change in watchOS—is this okay?

First, I should point out that since I’m not in the U.S., this doesn’t apply to Siri AI… In other words, if you’re a Siri user outside the U.S., you should be able to see this.

When you call up Siri on the Watch, the screen used to display Siri’s signature icon at the bottom, but in this watchOS 27 beta 7 update, a blur effect has been added to the background at the bottom of the screen.

Cellular data isn’t working after the update…

I live in Korea and have been using the beta versions continuously since iOS 18, but this is the first time I’ve encountered a bug where cellular service doesn’t work.

You can take a screenshot on Apple Watch by pressing the Side Button and Digital Crown at the same time, but make sure the Enable Screenshots option is turned on in the Watch app (on iPhone) > General.

I think watchOS 27 makes the gradient look brighter. Here’s a screenshot from watchOS 26.6 with a much darker gradient.

This might be carrier-related. I haven’t seen many reports of cellular issues, and I haven’t run into any myself during the iOS 27 beta cycle so far :thinking:

Many Apple Maps features depend heavily on the region where they’re available. In my country, Apple Maps is missing quite a few features. Some of them look new but have actually been around for a long time :grimacing:

I think iOS 27 will be released on September 22, 2026 to the public. At the same time when the iPhone 18 (probably) and the new Mac’s are available to buy.
