I was recently on iOS 18.2 Dev Beta 2, with Apple Intelligence on my iPhone 15. I got the popup telling me to update, so my smartass thought it would be a good idea to disable OTA with Nugget, to remove it.
Unfortunately, that didn’t work. I had to update to 18.3 via iTunes, which worked, but my OTA is still disabled. I want to update to 18.4 Beta 1, but I can’t do so because as far as I’m aware, you can only do beta updates OTA. I tried toggling the ‘OTA off’ button on Nugget AND Cowabunga Lite, but that didn’t help my problem.
tldr; OTA is broken, I have no clue how to turn it back on. Help would be appreciated.
I think you need to restore the MobileGestalt file to its original state—the one you exported initially before making any changes.
Another solution is to restore your iPhone using iTunes without restoring data from a previous backup. For some reason, iTunes backups retain the changes you previously made.
But will an 18.2 gestalt file work with 18.3? Also, are you suggesting resetting my iPhone completely? Doesn’t restoring my iPhone erase my data?
I think it will work if it’s the original, unmodified file.
Yes, all your data will be erased. You can back up important data via iCloud and restore it if needed. However, restoring from an iTunes backup will reapply any previous modifications to your iPhone.
